WATER IONIZER

What to look for when buying an ionizer machine.

Number 1:

When considering what type of a water ionizer to buy, the most important component in the creation of alkaline water is the size of the plates. Most people know that mesh plates are superior by now, but not as many realize that alkaline water is a biproduct of electrolysis. The electrolysis process is created by the platinum titanium that make up a water ionizers plates.

A good water ionizer will have mesh plates, but a great water ionizer will have large, mesh plates. Be sure to ask about the size of the plates when you make a purchase. Many water ionizer companies brag about the make up of their plates, but they never mention the size. There is a reason they don’t mention it. Don’t fall for the old “ours plates are thicker or heavier” line either! P.S Go with 7 plates if your budget allows. The less amount of plates, the worst the performance and longevity of the machine will be.

Number 2:

Stick with a counter top model if possible. Under sink models are not perfected yet by any manufacturer. We have access to almost every major brand and we will sell you an under counter model if that is your desire, but the trouble vs. benefit just isn’t there yet. If you are insist on an under counter model, wait a year or two until they figure it out!

Number 3:

Useless gadgets are becoming more and more prevalent. The marketing hype is getting out of hand. Some companies are charging extra for silly things like UV lights, and some are even charging for mesh plates which we think should be a standard option. UV light must shine through something clear. Over time the clear surface will likely become covered by lime scale and the light will become useless. Also, UV light is usually required to have contact with water for longer than 3 seconds, this is not possible with the flow rate of most ionizers. Most importantly, the ionization and electrolysis process will kill most bacteria anyway, so there is no need to spend extra money for useless gadgets.

Number 4:

Don’t get sucked into pre-filters. A good machine will provide adequate filtration without pre-filters. Some companies are giving out a third filter and filter housing for “free” by trying to scare customers into thinking they need them. Despise the free lunch! Accepting a pre-filter is setting you up for an extra $200.00 (at least) per year expense that you do not need. Look for a machine with adequate filtration that is already built in. Hint: The useless pre-filter upsell usually starts with “What is your zip code, so we can check your water in your area and give you a pre-filter that is right for your water”? Baloney!

Number 5:

Avoid most review sites. There are so many so called “review sites” out there on the web. If you see a review site that gives one machine a higher rating than all the others, you can count on the fact that is owned by that company or one of their affiliates. Look for review sites that have multiple machines with equal ratings, and trust the sites that feel right to you. If you do enough reading on any review site, your intuition will guide you. Check out our “links” section (on the right) for trusted sites of which we have verified the authenticity.
